How do some people succeed, while others don't?

How is one person always free while the next can not "find the time"?

How can someone work 1 hour and finish while another person works 10 hours and can not complete the task?

The answer to these questions is having good time management skills, which lead to success! A lot of people take time for granted but it is the only thing we can not get back. If we lose money, we can get it back. If we lose our significant other, we can get them back. BUT, if we lose/waste time, we will never be able to get it back!:(

One solution to get the most of your time is the prioritize the importance of the activities you must complete. The highest importance task should obviously get completed first! Some of the times the highest priority task is the most unattractive item so it gets put to the bottom of the list, which will eventually catch up with you.

Best Book I've read for time management - The Power of Full Engagement: Managing Energy, Not Time, Is the Key to High Performance and Personal Renewal - Short read but very different from traditional time management books. Enjoy!

I love this thread!

Time management is certainly an ongoing endeavor. Something
you have to work at each day.

By I have two tools that have worked wonders for my productivity!

The first is called Wunderlist. It's an online tool that basically allows
you to create to-do lists. But I have also customized the dashboard
in a way that really helps me stay focused on my daily, weekly, and
monthly goals.

In the sidebar they allow you to allow categories or folders. They call
it a 'list'. But I think of it kind of as a folder. Then you have a list
inside each folder.

I have a section for each day of the week. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
Thursday, etc...

Then on those days I add my most important tasks to those lists.

If something isn't able to get done on that day then it goes over to the next day.

You can also 'star' tasks that are most important and need to be finished first.

I also have a folder for 'Monthly Goals' and '1st Quarter Goals'. This helps
me to stay on track for my big-picture goals for the year.

In addition, I also use a simple kitchen digital timer to stay focused.

I set the timer for 33-minute blitzes until I've completed a certain task.

That alone has worked wonders!
