Define what you consider wealth before beginning the journey. Having a clear destination is important to keeping your focus.

This is a link to a speech by Warren Buffet to group of MBA graduates. For me his speech gave a very good perspective on wealth, business and life. The last part of the speech definitely struck a chord with me. I highly recommend checking it out.

Edit: I forgot to add that the speech is in 10 parts, above is the first part. If you're short on time at least check out the last video, a few minutes in when he talks about the fallopian lottery.

The Pretend Millionaires: http://mindofz.com/on-life-me/the-pretend-millionaires/

I laughed because she describes my friends perfectly. Not about how much you make but how you spend money matters too.

If you earn hard and play hard, it's gonna go pretty fast.

I know these articles might seem weird at first glance simply because they don't involve day to day practical ideas about saving or making more money.

However, I found the ideas mentioned to be very interesting. The article below talks about "attracting" money using the law of attraction. This basically means having the right "abundance" mindset to attract money towards yourself. A common example is the fact that many of us (including me) have thought at some point in time "Let me first earn a lot of money, then I will do what I love." That mindset involves us giving away OUR power to money because we believe that money is what must come first to give us power. Without money we are powerless and when money comes THEN we can do what we love. But that is the wrong vibe for attracting money because then money has the POWER or the right to say yes or no to come to us. On the other hand, do what you love right now considering YOURSELF to be powerful automatically attracts money in the long run...

I know all this sounds too far fetched, and maybe it is, but in small little ways, it has worked for me. Here are the three articles (Finally :P )

Then how come there are so many destitute artists/actors/musicians out there?

They're "doing what they love," and they're passionate about it, so why aren't they "attracting" money?

Because "The Secret," and "The Law of Attraction" are complete and utter nonsense. Snake oil gibberish designed by scammers and con artists to separate desperate, naive people from their hard earned money. One step below televangelists.

This is a bit of a old article but I thought it could still be of some help. Kinda personal finance related but on a global scale.

Basically it talks about the fact that each of us has the power to talk about the economic climate, but how we talk about it can have a large overall effect on every other economic element around us.

I took from the article that positive thinking and positive actions could not only solve our financial problems in our own lives and homes but it could also have a more widespread maybe even global scale. Since this article the UK has actually experienced a double dip recession.
