Thanks, Jorns. I'll see if I can diagnose the problem. I was wondering why avatars weren't working anymore...

Anyone else having issues logging in? Over the weekend I tried to log in and I had to try it a couple of times before it took and then all the topics were marked as read. I assumed it was because I hadn't logged in for about a week and the system go over loaded. But this afternoon it happended again. User Error?

I've discovered that there seem to be two "instances" of the forums. One is at http://forums.getrichslowly.org/ and the other is at http://www.getrichslowly.org/forum/

Both "instances" show all the messages, but if you normally log into one and then access via the other, it may not show you as logged in, and it may not show new messages. It's all very strange...

Allright, over this next weekend im going to twiddle with the forum stuff on the admin side with my wife and we'll see if there's something we can do about it.

No worries JD. The Air Force trusts her to oversee their entire intraweb. She's good.

Is there any way to add a "View Next Topic" and "View Previous Topic" buttons after the last entry on each page, near the page numbers or something? I only login 2-3 times a week, and I find myself scrolling back up the page to click on "View Next Topic" a lot. It would sure speed up my viewing time, and I think others would appreciate it too. Thanks for all the work you guys do to keep this forum up and running!

On the forums. Once you are in a post and you scroll down to read all the replies, you have to scroll back up to the top to click on "View next topic." Maybe I am the only one who goes through the forum posts this way, but I would imagine there are a few other who would appreciate the update.

Okay Jenoly, thanks for the specifics.

I've browsed around with the admin tools for a bit today, but didnt see anything that stood out. Im going to look at this over the weekend and if its not available, send a message to the appropriate help folks, because I do think that would be helpful to have.

This notice is going to be put on the first post of this thread as well.

Because of the increased spam, I'm going to institute a new policy. For brand new members, any posts that ask about stock market tips for making large amounts of money will be automatically deleted unless your post contains some semblance of substance to it, or specifics. This will be at a mod'd discretion, but we are getting a large number of new users who make a post about making gobs of money by beating the stock market (be it day-trading, timing, or foreign markets), and so far these posts have been followed by spam.

It may be time for me to mix up the anti-spam measures here. I tried to fix things so that it was easier for people to register, but at what cost? Is it better to have everyone register and be spammed? Or is it better to have the people who can't read not register and also block the spam?
