I'm new, but that means I'm expendable, so count me in! Have to have some sorta front line, right?

An idea that I have seen on a couple other forms is having the first post, or first few, have to be approved by an admin. I know that this puts a bit more work on things, but if the first post or two are legit looking, then its likely they aren't spammers.

Another thing that cuts back a little is those annoying human checks that have the numbers/letters that you have to type in, although I personally find this a bit annoying for each post, I have seen it work on a few sites as well.

Another idea would be to prevent posters from posting links (in both their main body as well as the signature since the "real estate attorney miami" like the signature for his spam) for the first 10-20 posts.
