Not really. Most of my fave pf books are gender-neutral.

Sorry, I am too busy enjoying my Male Privilege to look for feminist PF blogs.

^Yeah, I thought that that comment was funny too, and I'm a girl.

Have you checked out http://www.myopenwallet.net/ ? She provides a huge index of PF blogs marked as written by a male or female. Good resource. :)

I might regret this, but asking in good faith.

I'm curious why you ask. Do you detect alot of chauvinism or discrimination among some of the personal finance blogs? What sort of things would make a PF blog a feminist one? I've always thought the topic was about as gender-neutral as possible. I can't think of anytime I've thought 'hmm that would be good advice if I were a woman' or along those lines. However, I am admittedly poor at sensing that sort of thing, which is why I wonder about your reasons.

cheers,
Zulu

That stuff bugs me too. I wish it didn't.

It's there, Zulu, you just don't notice it because it's a sort of 70/30 thing (70% of the time, the woman is represented as the spender/PF problem, 30% of the time it is the man).

That said, I find women's magazines (Vogue, Cosmo) equally irritating, for the same reasons.

I concur. GRS is a joy to read

I think that JD could be considered a feminist blogger. I can only think of one post that sticks in my craw. But the balance of JD's writing is neutral. In fact, when it first started up, I thought perhaps JD was a woman, since he only used his initials. However, his picture sort of set me straight. Oh, and the mention of his wife!

Littlemissnoname, specabecca, I have to say that I've seen what you have a LOT. And don't even get me started on the oft-assumed "M" in SAHM/D/P, which I think short-changes the entire family. I've also found that many of the female bloggers out there write from a Christian perspective, from the sort of churches that regard feminsm as The Enemy. (I do not judge; they are great blogs and often great churchs, but I do think Proverbs 31:10 is a great set of standards for men and women alike, sort of like Kipling's "If" or the Boy Scout Motto/ Law.) And I could not agree more with consultantjournal.

I myself find Queercents a valuable PF resource. (Sigh. Did I just hear the sound of four-and-twenty simultaneous jumps to Conclusions? I also like Girl Genius comics and the occasional cat macro, and I am neither a hawt steampunk genius babe nor a grammatically-challenged feline. Not that there is anything wrong with that.)

Wow, I don't recall seeing that at all, anywhere - and I read a lot of PF blogs!

At any rate, isn't it a little hypocritical to decry that kind of sexist attitude, while actively seeking out an equally biased perspective that favors your own gender?

I'm not trying to start an argument, but statistically, the vast, vast majority of the time, it's the mother who chooses to stay home and raise the child, not the dad. We can argue about the reasons for this if you want, but there's little denying the truth behind the stereotype.

That said, I'm all in favor of changing the acronym to "SAHP".
