Hello everybody, I have been reading a bit about “applied” quantum theory and have come across lines that state that it is a unique way of controlling ones thoughts and bringing a powerful, quick and “wholesale” change in and around us. I would like you all to express your views on this and if you have something interesting to add, please do share!!!

While seemingly innocuous, I suspect this question is spam as the exact same text string can be found on other forums (do a google search). It seems to be a teaser for someone to post a link to a "quantum-wealth" website and a pitch to subscribe to the newsletter.

A lot of mystics have appropriated the principles of quantum physics in an attempt to validate their belief that our thoughts can be used to control the world around us, and indeed that our thoughts and consciousness "create" the world.

Fritof Capra has a good book written from a physicists POV about the parallels between the Taoist world view and Quantum Theory. Now, it's probably spam and quackery to suggest you can really manipulate the Quantum world with your mind. But "The Tao of Physics" is a wonderful book if you have an interest in Quantum Physics.

There is no practical application of quantum mechanics to human behavior. I'm sure that you can draw various analogies to create meaningful metaphors between the two subjects, as you can with pretty much any relatively complicated phenomenon.

There are no links and specific products mentioned so I think it's best to give the benefit of the doubt and assume this is not spam. I've subscribed to this thread so if the OP gets out of line we'll get rid of it ASAP.

The links don't come from the original poster but from a follow-on post that reads as follows:

Quote:
Actually, as you state it, “applied” quantum theory physics is first the realization that our thoughts affect the world around us, everytime, all the time. It is an effective way to have (or more specifically, take back) control of your mind and utilize it in the most potential way. Thought is the essence of your personal power, and focused thought is laser-focused power. Quantum physics has been spectacularly successful (for westerners) in showing and verifying what eastern mystics have known for 2500 years. It is not our brain that gives rise to our consciousness; instead it is our consciousness, or mind, that creates everything – our “reality”. You can get more info on this at quantum-wealth. Subscribe to the newsletter and you will receive much more information on this and leads on other sources as well.

The same exact question was posted on a few other forums in the past several days and the same exact response quoted above was posted as a response. It seems a bit too calculated to be a coincidence...someone posting a question and then someone else (or the same person with a different username) posting the response; a sort of elaborate way to make spam not look like spam. At least that's my suspicion.
