Does anyone else do the daily fitness test in Wii Sports?

Have you been able to get to 20 yet? I had one day where I hit 21, and I often get 25 or below, but I cannot for the life of me get 20, even when my best three events come up (bowling - power throws, tennis - moving target, tennis - return balls). I sometimes get the 20 that falls to another number, which represents a fine start blown on the third event. (I've also had a 50 that changed to a 29 or something, which represents a bad start made better.)

Anyhow -- I'm dying to know what happens if you can hit a 20 year old mark.

While we're on the subject, what are your best events? Mine are:

* tennis - return balls
* bowling - power throws
* tennis - moving target
* baseball - batting practice

I suck at golf, and I never attach the nunchuk for boxing.

Haha. My kids do the same thing -- leave the nunchuk off, otherwise their scores plummet (or skyrocket, as it were).

The funny thing is that my five year old *rocks* at bowling. Last night he had a strike or spare in every frame. Unbelievable, especially when you consider his technique -- it involves a short run followed by a hop and while he whips his arm in a circle. He then bounces up and down until the pins are down. He's utterly confident and takes it very seriously.

great wii related accident site

www.wiihaveaproblem.com

I thought these people were insane losing grip on the wiimote causing the wrist strap to break and ruining $2000 TV's......then mine slipped, broke, and smacked my wife in the head.

I got mine the day it came out by oure luck. Ther were huge lines at all the stores around here the night before. That sunday morning I had to go do a side job about 35 miles from here and happened to drive by a best buy at 7:30 am with inly 12 people in line. I was about an hour and a half late for work but it was completely worht it.

My sister's boyfriend has a Wii, and I really enjoyed Elobits. The story is stupid, but you tear apart a home to find cute little anthropomorphized electrons and shoot them. The game play is fun. It's also good for playing with little kids, who may not have the coordination for more complicated games (I played a lot with my niece).

I played Wii with young kids for the first time last weekend. Here's my evaluation:

2yrs: no interest (obviously)
5yrs: interest, but unable to focus long enough learn how to play
8yrs: keenly interested, and has fun, but content to flail away instead of be methodical

I'll get to play with a whole horde of kids later this week.

So I see on Amazon that there are a boat-load of "first party" Wii games coming out in the next few months: Super Mario Galaxy, Smash Brothers, etc. These all sound great. But what are your favorite Wii games that our out now? I just ordered Dance Dance Revolution, which I have no skill at, and which I hear was bad for the Gamecube. I don't care. I think it'll be fun! But I'd like to know what other games are actually good...

I played one called Rayman if I remember correctly that was hilarious. I love the Wii. I hope they bash MS and Sony to bits in the console wars.

I also love my DS. Super fun!

:)

I'm getting a Wii next week! :D :D My family is buying a used bundle off a friend of mine that bought all the stuff and ended up barely playing it. I'm so excited (and I just can't hide it!)!

OMFG

Where has Dance Dance Revolution been all my life? If you see less posting around GRS over the next few weeks, you'll know why. I've spent nearly three hours playing the game tonight. That's time that I normally would spend writing. If this were something like World of Warcraft, I'd be upset. But this game is exercise. My heart is still racing. My clothes are soaked. My toes are tingling.

Wow!

OK, I got it! Turns out I can't dance, though.

I've been looking for some way to get cardio in. This seems like it will be a good method once I get in the groove. I wish the calorie tracking was a little better though. Nothing beats a graph.

I bought a Wii about a month ago for my husband's birthday (and to help keep him busy while he was recovering from surgery). So far we have only bought Mario Party 8 (an 'okay' game) and Rampage Total Destruction. Rampage was only $20 but our boys love it! (ages 6 & 9 - our 3yo is only interested in watching the games). You pretty much just get to stomp around destroying cities and eating people :shock:

I'm keeping an eye out for deals on -
Carnival Games
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree
Super Mario Galaxy
Wing Island
ExciteTruck
Resident Evil 4 (for dh only!)
Super Paper Mario (for me!)

I'd love a shooting/target type game that isn't violent - my kids just love to shoot stuff. Some of the games above I'm considering simply because they're up to 4 players and the family can play together.

Opinions on any of the games is appreciated!

Okay -- anyone else playing DDR Hottest Party? I need help on Groove Circuit mode -- the Samurai song. I realize that it all basically comes down to "practice more", but there must be some tips you can give. The double-steps in the middle give me trouble, as does the one freeze step (the long green step) that is either an up or down arrow surrounded by other steps. I can't do that. I have no idea how to do this!

DDR Rocks. Julie uses it for a jamming exercise routine.

So, as a non-video game player, who loves the Wii, should DDR be our next purchase (or go on the shopping list)? We like Wii Sports. And I used to play Mario Brothers, but games like Madden, which are so complicated, are not for me.
