Hello, Let me introduce myself in this forum.
My name is As'ad Arifin, just call me Arifin. I just graduated from college in Indonesia. I am 23 years old.

I am currently looking into a variety of topics related to economics and finance, because in the near future I plan to study in the graduate program.

Hopefully we can learn a lot in this forum.
Thank You. :D :D :D

Dawn Martin here! Been following the blog for years...almost since it's inception but I never did get to the forums. Since getting my act together in 2007 (or starting on the path to "get act together") I've turned into a bigger nerd than before  YES, love me some spreadsheets and budgets and blogs and investments and and and

I live in Iowa with my husband and 15 year-old son, as well as a dog, cat and gecko! Love reading and learning from everyone's successes and struggles.

I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. My name is Doug, and I am from Orange County, California. There is a lot of great information on this site. I'm looking for a social support group with like minded individuals who share my frugal values. I'm really interested in financial and tax planning and would love to discuss these issues with others. I live in Los Angeles where everyone I know loves to spend and hardly anyone saves anything.

Hi,

I'm new to the forum but browsing through it looks really good. I've always been a fan of personal finance and can't wait to learn some tricks from the board. I'm a big fan of living beneath your means and that's often where my viewpoint comes from. I look forward to all the discussion and advice sharing that's sure to come.

I am Ray from Pennsylvania, a few years ago I stumbled upon Dave Ramsey's the total money makeover and I realized:
1) I had been living that debt free life style for nearly 20 years. (Mortgage Paid off roughly 12 years ago).
2) I wished I had learned frugality even earlier.
3) I loved hearing about people over coming financial hurdles
4) I enjoy sharing my experiences and opinions about how to handle money.
5) I grew up in a house dominated by money worries and I felt helpless. Hence my adversion to debt and love of having the huge savings cushion!
6) I am close to retirement.

Sometimes I find myself reading the posts and thinking to myself - 40k in credit card debt? - my god what were you thinking! And all day long I am shaking my head thinking there but for the grace of god go I.

Hello folks,

I'm new to the forums here, but have been following this page for a while now. Last year I finally read Your Money: The Missing Manual and I was pleased to find that I was pretty much on the right path, but did learn a few new things, too (namely that I had too much life insurance and the value of credit unions).

I've been on a pretty tight budget since 2008, but five years later I'm seeing light at the end of the tunnel and nearly have all my emergency savings in place, recently bought my first home, and if all goes well I hope to start a side business this summer.

Looking forward to learning what I can from the fine folks here.

J. Morton aka u6crash
