What are your favorite personal finance apps?

I'm a bit of a gadget geek :) And I love using different tools to help manage and track my finances.

Some of my favorites include Mint.com, ShoeBoxed, Savings Goals, and Stock Wars.

There are a number of other great personal finance apps at:

I'd love to hear what some of your favorites are as well!

Add a few to my gadget collection :)

All I use is an old copy of Microsoft Money and a spreadsheet.
I can not dwell over that to which I have no control...

There's an article about personalcapital on Forbes.

I've not used anything other than mint at this point.

I'm a Mint.com girl. For an often distracted person like me, the bill reminder is invaluable. Also, they have alerted me to suspicious activity before, which I wouldn't have noticed otherwise (cuz again, i'm usually distracted) LOL.

I'm sad that nobody mentioned the champion app: youneedabudget.

It was from a guy who used excel for a while (accountant) then just created a super organized app. Mac and PC, phenomenal tool

Keep track of your monthly expenditure, set limits on each goodies you purchase, save money, and look for investment ideas. Mint.com personal finance apps is one which I often use. It keeps track of your spending and keeps reminding you about your budget. Moneywise is another easy to use app.

Mint. That`s the only one I use - in addition to bank apps to transfer money and deposit checks.

I am old school and keep everything in a spreadsheet on an encrypted laptop. Aren't people worried about security with something link Mint or Learnvest having all the information about every account you have? I get that my bank has to know some things but I use different banks checking, savings and my mortgage on purpose to keep them apart. Are people really comfortable with some app knowing everything?

Honestly, I've gotten more security breach notifications from Bank of America than I have from Mint :^)

Bringing back an old post because it's pretty relevant!

I can only speak for Mint (I would assume Learnvest and other apps are the same or similar), but I feel very secure using it. The security is at the same level as bank websites (or better, given all of the hacks on banks lately). Whatmore, it's view only. You can't transfer money around based from Mint directly... you have to go to your bank's website. Mint also doesn't have any account numbers, just your usernames and passwords. If you change one password somewhere, you'll have to update it at Mint to be able to view things there. Basically, I find Mint secure... to my knowledge it hasn't been hacked while I've been a member (wasn't affected by Heartbleed I don't think), and even if it was, there's not a lot of information they can pull from there.
