JD is the other site admin, but Im always telling him to let me worry about this place and he can concentrate on putting out more great articles.

Hmm.
Let me see whats available to me.
I'm actually on here checking for spam almost everyday (M-F, 7-3 PST), even if I don't make my presence known in other posts. I figure my job is more to watch for spam and help keep the peace, and not to interject my [lack of] PF knowledge... 8)

Well see Jethro, I never saw ya really around posting so I thought ya lurked. Now I know you're around!

What we could use is someone who's in Europe or a different time schedule. The spammers seem to spam this board late in the American nightime...

Note to users:

Myself and the moderating team have a zero tolerance for spam mentality. If a post can be reasonably construed as spam, it, and your account, will be deleted. We have to have such a policy because of the amount of spam this board receives on a weekly basis.

If you have any questions on spam, please ask them here.

If you've been a semi-active contributor, you can probably ignore this message.

(Posted this in another topic in GD before I checked here, so feel free to close/delete the thread if you so desire)

Is there any way to change the number of posts I see per page? I am pretty good with forums, if slightly uneducated with phpBB, but I was pretty sure that in the Profile options I thought that you could change the number of posts you see per page (within a thread)...but I'm not seeing any options.

The new forum design makes me log in every time I come to the site, even though I always check "keep me signed in." This didn't happen before the redesign.

Same here, plus phpBB is very susceptible to spam, as we can see in the Personal Finance section. I don't mean to be a change-hating whiner, but having to log in each time is a pretty big bummer.

I really find myself visiting the forum less because of the hassle of the repeated log-in. I like to see which topics have new posts and don't want to re-login to do it.

I vastly prefer the old forums, but I'm willing to give the new format a chance, if the change was made in order to deliver some sort of improvement that the old forums lacked.

So maybe JD or JerichoHill can explain why the forums were changed? What does this new format offer that the old format did not? What improvements are present in the new forums?

What was gained by the change?

For your login to be saved, you must rebookmark the forum after logging in. Bookmarks pointing to the old forum will not login as it seems to simply redirect to the new forum.

The kinks are being worked out folks. I was caught unawares by the change.

We did need new forums. The mods now have much better tools to help keep these boards clean and that should help, plus we'll detail the new things the users can do as well soon.

Please update your bookmarks as once you bookmark the new site you should be able to browse without having to log back in and out

The problem about relogging in seems to have fixed itself (I didn't change my bookmark).

Hi Jericho:

For about 3-4 weeks now, I can log onto the forums. But whenever I click on any of the navigation links, I get logged off.

I'm not the only one - Sam noted this in her latest fiscal journal, and another poster mentioned it last week.

FTR, I'm using Firefox on a PC at work. I also use Firefox on a Mac at home, and I'm having the same problem with both platforms.

Thanks.
