TDIW is transforming debt into wealth. Essentially Mr Commuta is promising, for 39.99 (less $5.00 if you navigate away from the page) a downlaodable program that will have you completely out of debt within a few years, using only your current income.

has anyone tried this? what were the results? Or does anyone have any compelling reasons to avoid this like the bubonic plague?

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I would imagine that he's just peddling common knowledge.

Here I'll save you the $35 to 40 bucks.

Don't spend more than you earn. Make a plan to pay off your existing debts one at a time. Pick up extra work or a second or third job to put towards the debts.

Continue for several months or years = debt free!!!

:) Sorry couldn't resist.

If he had some magic solution to "transform debt into wealth" it wouldn't cost $40. I hear those radio ads all the time.

Hi, In my experience this was a real scam. Materials totalled over 300 dollars, then they roped me in with a "free consultation" where they convinced me I could get valuable coaching for 3 years for *only* 10,000! I fell for it, idiotically, and now I am 10,000 more in debt. They do give you coaching but after a while I didn't feel it was doing anything for me. They also guarantee you'll gain the 10k or your money back IF you follow their advice.

In my opinion this is a big fat scam.

Oh my god, what a disaster. Sorry to hear that you got swindled, kf, but I am glad that you posted so that others might avoid the same mistake.

If it is any consolation, my husband and paid good money for advise to buy a bunch of garbage (front and back loaded mutual funds) a few years ago at Ameriprise. All in all, I think we were separated from a few thousand of our hard earned dollars. It hurt when our eyes were opened.

I think many others on this forum have been 'had' one way or another, and for them, it motivated them to figure out PF on their own.

My husband and I are PF literate and blissfully fiscally fit because of our experience. I hope you make the most of yours.

I heard the ads a few times on the radio and thought it was a scam. I'm glad to come across this thread. Definitely confirms my suspicion.

This is the first I've heard of this guy, but I just watched his video here:

http://www.tdiw.com/

I have to say that I agree with everything he says here, but this short video doesn't actually say anything about his business practices or his "system". I'll try to learn more.

I keep saying that I need to pay to purchase some of these materials. I can afford it now, and it's a business expense, and it would give me great fodder to write about, I think. This may be the first target.
