Thanks for linking to the min. wage post. My brothers are both in this situation and it feels like they are stuck. I’d love to give them some clear cut answers - or at least be able to help out a lot!

The post “What Use Is Personal Finance Advice If You’re Making Minimum Wage?” was good, but it boiled down to “get a higher paying job”.

Am I the only person who is on a fixed income (I am 100% unable to work due to disability) and interested in making the best of it? I doubt it very much. I would love to see you wrote something about my type of situation… what is the best way to look after the few thousand dollars I won last year (I put it in a low fee mutual fund)? How are the pennies best stretched? How important is it to get out of the trap of buying shoddy cheap stuff where replacements eat cash in the long term?

Lots of issues! I am not under the delusion that I will ever be rich, but making the best of a situation is important too.

    Regards,
