Don't you want them to trust you? If you tell them Santa Claus exists and they find out otherwise, they may also eventually conclude that God doesn't exist. Also, I think if you lie to your children about Santa Claus you're still a liar. It's fine to share a fictional story, and have fun with it, but why do people feel the need to trick children into believing something is true when it so clearly isn't?
