Captain Jack Harkness and the Darleks in panto

Postby plonkee » Wed Jun 06, 2007 1:28 am

The billboards have just gone up for the Xmas pantomime in Birmingham. This year its going to be Aladdin and the lead role is being played by John Barrowman (from Torchwood / Dr Who) and there will be a guest appearance by the Darleks.

How cool is that?

I may have to actually endure the whole panto just to see them.

Plonkee, I am confused. Are you saying that where you live, there's already advertising for Christmas? I can hardly believe this! When does merchandising in the stores begin in the UK? Here, the earliest I see things is August in Costco, when they start to set out crap for the next six months.

I've never seen anything this early before.

I guess that its more an announcement of who the stars are going to be than an all out advertisement. Maybe the theatre is having a tough time this year and wants to improve their cash flow (they make a lot of their money out of pantos).

It does seem kind of odd, especially as the weather is quite hot over here at the moment.
